Next Steps: The Future

Where do I see you in the next five years?

I can see that my future will be brighter and achievable to infer that I will maybe going into internship in film and tv in london. I wanted to become a graphic design and film and tv production for sure and working in the sky studio company as a full time job. I would also want to earn a quiet amount of money while I am working. I can see my future heading to find the correct job role in the media industry after trying internships to help me learn new skills in the chosen area of media. I have decided not to apply for degree apprenticeship in university as I do not think i will be interested to take that step in life. I think i have decided to apply for apprenticeship/ internship instead as it's will be a suitable fit for my options. I will go straight to the work environment after I leave college to find a film and tv job in any company such as sky, itv, bbc.
The experience that I have date at the moment: I have done English and maths with a current grade 3 on both but I am currently retaking those maths and english to achieve a better grade. I wanted to work with people around the same age group as me to explore the outcome of the work and meeting new people to bring the confidence and encouragement that I have.

Here is a mind map of career choices that I am certain to do in the future.

Prospect login

I used the link from teams to make an account for a career in order to do the quiz.

Prospect film quiz

I have done the quiz and some of these jobs came up after I finished. I know that I will stick with creative media and learn further skills with the course. I am open to other options but I can see that they have give me film/video editor, film producer etc that I am keen of doing. I like how this quiz really gives me many opportunities to decide on the right job path in years to come. My top matches is film production, film maker. I wanted to meet new people when i start working in the film industry and bring up my confidence by sharing ideas and creating content while i am at it. I am suggesting that the jobs that i have fined would be something i would do after leaving college and travelling to the company/place ment on my own to adjust the feeling to experience work life. Instead of staying at home all day which won't be healthy.

Write up Photographer Presentation (research)
Guest speaker who was an ex Stanmore college student talk on photography: Monday 2nd December 2024

An ex Stanmore college student (Kieran) came to visit our class (year 2) to discuss about how to get to the world of media industry. Kieran was explaining that compact details on media industry and that media is an small world so  there is a less percentages  of chances that people can get to the media industry by finding their dream job and course in the media but others just get a normal job in a supermarket. I love how he discussed that he occurred to try out university route but unfortunately, the plan didn't carried out like how he wanted his future to be after he passed the interview with outstanding Maths and English results. He then went on to say that he didn't want to expressed going back to education by writing a long essay for the course every time for the year. Kieran went to the right pathway even if he got the qualifications he wanted but decided that starting working is the convenient option for him so he explore and research different areas that could lead him to find perfect positions of a place in the industry and aiming for the successful job in the meantime for his future. He explain that he worked very hard to aim to the certain point achieve the inequalities solution that help me understand that if a person didn't get the qualification doesn’t mean they can’t find a job. This doesn't mean  he can make a portfolio with all of his creativity thinking to adapt and achieve the role he wanted in film and photography to able to learn some serious skills.

This student(Kieran) took his time by displaying a presentation to the group that refer to the benefit of filming a football tournament documentary. However, he said that this wasn't his best fit and his employee likes how he edited and designed the presentation. To be honest, if he was the boss and earn the company, he will make the presentation even inspiring and interesting where all young people in the generation would enjoy the effort on how football means to the community that want to try out for the teams. He worked and experience life skill while working for the wave makers company and that he went to a football pitch after getting feedback from one of the staff that worked there to film a short video/film. Apprenticeship isn't an option but if people can't cope experiencing educations again, they can go to the world wide of work to learn more skill on media with using critical things and creativity knowledge. The student has carried an old fashioned modern camera that was made in the 60 or 70 century to places that make it very interesting so he will never leave home without it. Filming the important scene of any events including football can bring emotion and dramatic  side in photography by developing his creative and planning skills to help him make a sketch on the football pitch and how many players will be played for each games. The focus of the lighting when you are shooting and capturing the emotive and exciting atmosphere to create a nature tone. I am grateful that we had a guest speaker coming I to talk more on media expecting in the world of work (apprenticeship). As this really will help and motivate me further and I am going to the right direction path to able  to get a job in the industry as this is the way of me knowing that I want take his pathway for something I would take in regard. Once, I finished college and getting  the qualification that I wanted, I will worked my way up to find a creativity film and tv job relate that really matter and earn an amount of money worth 1000-3000 pounds. The more chance that you think, the chances you get to plan and create all sort of products that I could think since I am not going to university. The university pathway is a stressful situation to repeat education, no thanks when work is always the option I want to follow since I like to earn money and live a better life well-forward.

The guest speaker was very interesting to me for the fact that this opportunity is a something I will keep in my mind. Although, Kieran did asked the class if they have any further questions and a few students in the group rise their hands and responding him with good solid answers that they wanted to know more about the life of apprenticeship work wise in the industry. However, not everyone in the class want to do apprenticeship and quite a lots of them are travelling to university pathways and he could have asked question like who is heading to the world wise of work after they finished college immediately. Maybe, once the number of students rise their hands up for the job pathway, he could have put them in a group to asked further questions on the media job relate situation. I really understand that his life wasn't very interesting as he expected but it was an option to informed many companies e.g. JD sports, Arsenal etc. For me, I was able to hear his story on how it's was a struggling for him to find a job once one day, he got a call from an company he is willing to started creating some content and this is something I would want to do to start my career forward. This ideas really bring the passive and recreative to adapt the feeling of working in any media companies but I will have a use specific questions and use those skills to pass the job interview once they give me an call -back after everything is finalised and answering most of the questions.

This is the reason that doing creative media in the college motivate me to tried out new challenging creative skills that I have learned a lot through the process by developing a poster and other media products which could lead me to get a job in the future. I was able to use some of his discuss talks to help me learner that media is everywhere in the world and not everyone will have the chance to aimed for their dream goal/job. I can't experience or can explore that my future in the next two/three years  will be like but I will be working in a massive and major job company that refer to media.

Guest speaker: Journalism write up (research) 26.11.24

Two journalism reporters came to visit the class to discuss about the media job related and how to make your own news reports that relate to any topics in the country. Then they went on to talks about the benefits of being a journalist and sometime you need a university degrees to aim those steps or make a college qualification if needed. The company can take people who got great and successful college or university degrees in film and tv if it's was linked together. I would say this is a half of the area I would recommended myself which the most important part for me is to follow the film and tv path which I can say this job is half the chance to aimed for.

This workshop was discussing the important barriers of film, to working behind the scenes of the sets for BBC news, sports etc and the importance of laws and how they looking after the eco friendly world. This was loads of topics that they  want to talks about which could help the environment. The discussion lead to the point that the speakers hand out worksheets to the group to fill out on which of the statement is the  top 3 news and least 3 statements to broadcast for the news that you won't include when broadcasting a news. And this kind helpful reporter gives me some good useful advices to explaining that why I think these three statements are my top 3 and the other three statement are my bottom three. One of the reporters write and came up with 12 solid stories to discuss to the class and then she told everyone to put their pens down and to discuss on the ideas that you have all talks/ came up with. I can see that being an journalism is about talking about Olympics sport like GB when she went to one of the olympics games recently which was Paris this year or the few years ago olympics games and the reporter was able to asked this swimmer future question on how the swimming race went and how does it feels to win a silver/gold medals after that incredible event. The purpose of discussing about this events was the South and North Londoners and why they share different or similar stories to could help them promote a interview to the world and people for both sides came to debate their opinions to the matter.

As what the speaker said, you could brainstorm your own questions that is appropriate to the topics and then get some feedback after. This will be like a small project that you could come up with your own ideas that the company will provide you with the chosen topics and worked with a few other people that you won't know and started editing the live video and motivate them to keep the business going to help it grow to be success. These questions are open to anyone who feel confident to answer as the environment can be loud of they are busy not able to hear the reporter. This happens a few times in Olympics and athlete games but they do answering the convict questions. I didn't have the chance to say my own opinion on the journalism but I was able to experience what does journalism do and if they get paid large amount of money.

They went on to discuss that journalism is an interesting job to do and I am not considering to do so for my future path. But I will need those ideas in mind to assist  to look back to this talks and learned the facts that journalism is not everyone dream goals but I only have one paths to head to. Although, it can be a creative work to experienced for anyone who is interesting. This workshop started from 3 to 4pm learning and developing people life on how journalism works and the important leads roles to aimed for this position. This will be a way to step and carried out the opportunities to aimed for this role if was keen to do so. This is a way to learn more about journalism or photojournalism as they have their similar and difference between them.  Photojournalism is the communication of news through photographs. These images tend to appear in print newspapers and magazines as well as online media sites and microblogging platforms. However, journalism is completely the same but a little similarly. On the other hand, Journalism is the act of gathering and presenting news and information, though the term is also used to refer to the news and information itself. It's a type of storytelling that comes in many different forms and is a key component to a democratic society.

Final choice:

LMA- Love Media, Love Music, Love Art

I have emailed a enquiry for internship for this media school and they give me an response to either apply straightaway from UCAS so they can delay my year or waited until the following year to apply when I am ready. I am keen to explore a lot more in this position when I am ready. I will able to attend this university in 2026 hopefully to continue with further education.

Personal Statement

My interest in media is always a subject where i used a lots of creativityand storytelling  as i am an hardworker and passionate by taking pictures and videos back in my young teenager ages up to young adulthood. Creating contents is always been my hobbies and dreams as i tried to express the way i feeling through understanding how to tell a stories through visual and imaginative. Creative media is about telling stoires in a way to connected with people. This can be with video, podcast, magazines and any kind of medium. But i know the hightlight of this subject is film and tv production that let people planned any contents they wanted to originate inorder to know those steps and able to record or flim any scenes of the project. I have gone way back to the time when i watch my first few movies like horror, romance, action, drama, and much more to showcase the techniques on how media created any kind of film based on the what the stories tells you. I have been watching movies a lots everyday throughout my childhood to present as some of the genres are very emotional and interesting which lead to the point that i could spend my time watching films 24/7.

I have first study creative media in a old college called barnet southgate college (wood street campus) and began my story over time. It's was my first subject of that year where i have experience photoshop, illustrator and premiere pro as at the college campus they don't have indesign for magazine and double page spread at the venue. So the college provide just these software which are premiere pro, photoshop and illustrator and they are limited because the media department at the college is mainly for filming and recording area so they do not use many applications of creating posters and etc. Once, i picked up an camera for the very first time and i knew this is what i wanted  to continue doing in the future in studying and working. Years ago in the old college, my class group will be going to the green screen studio mostly everyday to record and fiming an scenes from the inside and outside to highlight the key method on the camera how to focus the lens in a angle.

This is why i wanted to continue media in the future by developing  more skills in film making as it's one of my favourites area of the media industry. Along those lines, i have showcase the talents on how i used a camera in the outside on my free days to record different angles and aspect of the video and shows people and the community on the hardworking that i have produced. I know this side of the subject makes me happy and excitement as i love filming and been doing those for couple of years until present.

My current course at stanmore college, i have continually learned and developing skills throughout with the same method and technique on the software; photoshop, illustrator, indesign and premiere pro as well as having writngs up some scripts on the sort of way i wanted my video to be and planning how to cretae an poster, magazine and spread. We have the knowledge to research on any influence and inspiration people in the years such as film makers, photographers, graphics and developed to plan out how we will use their ideas to put into our own ways of using creativity with images of our own in order to be successful.

For my old job, i used to work in a office with a family friend where she asked me to created a poster or magazine for her company. As, i am a quick and light learner didn't wanted to rush things quickly so i planned out different methods and ideas together to see if the client would like the ideas for the company as its could be an great start for the company. Then, i used one of their software called photoshop and illustrator to start design and putting the ideas in together to make one interesting poster. I used a lot of communication skills by asking questions and wrting some notes to ensure that i have understood and make the point much clearer for the work to be less stressful.

In addition, i have been a more of an film making person as i used many skills through filming to be more creative and honest on the subject that bring greatness to the world. On the outside of media, i enjoyed music and dancing in my free time to help me express myself when i am upset and anxiety on something  that going to happen. I have the confidence in knowing my film skills and dance as these are my favourite things to do in life. There is lots of media where i would included a lots of filming process as it is the strengths i have in media.

In LMA University, i wanted to know that i am looking forward to join your society to continue with my further education. I will meet new people who are interested in the same area as me and the community will came out stronger for the rest of us to developing the passionate experience we love to gain. I have the purpose to start looking for an job in film that would help me with my life goal after the three years of studying.

In advance, i would to experience more specific areas of filming in a company called Sky or any other movie studio. Although, i can use more lighting equipment and camera to show the technique as one of my goal in work experience. I didn't have any other work experience in my time as there wasn't many jobs within film and tv production. I respect you taking your time review my application when you have the courage to read it.
